ABUJA — High Chief Alhaji Abdulmajid Solademi has been formally unveiled and inducted as the Patron of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) FCT Safe School Initiative, in recognition of his contributions to community development, youth empowerment and efforts towards building a safer society.

The unveiling ceremony was held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, during the official launch of the PCRC Safe School Programme at the Conference Hall of the FCT Police Command, Old CBN Road, Garki, Abuja.
Solademi, who is the Chairman of Air Warriors Basketball Club of Abuja and Chairman/CEO of Yajifarz Cargo, was honoured for his sustained commitment to initiatives that promote youth development, community participation and social responsibility.

The ceremony was led by the National Chairman of the PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, alongside the PCRC FCT Command Chairman, Chief Rufus Ebegba, and the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Prof. Sanusi Mohammed.

The Safe School Initiative is designed to strengthen security within educational institutions while promoting closer cooperation among the police, schools, parents, communities and other stakeholders in safeguarding students, teachers and school facilities.

Speaking after his unveiling, Solademi expressed appreciation to the leadership of the PCRC and the FCT Police Command for considering him worthy of the appointment.
He described the responsibility as both an honour and a call to service, stressing that education remains the foundation of every progressive society.

According to him, children deserve to learn in environments where they feel safe, protected and encouraged to pursue their dreams.
Solademi pledged to work closely with the PCRC, the Nigeria Police Force, educational institutions, parents and other relevant stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at improving the safety and security of schools across the Federal Capital Territory.

He further noted that his passion for youth development, particularly through sports and empowerment programmes, has given him a clear understanding of the importance of creating safe spaces and opportunities for young people to develop their talents and achieve their potential.

“This appointment is not just an honour; it is a call to service. I pledge to use my experience, network and resources to support the Safe School initiative and contribute meaningfully to the protection of our children and the future of our nation,” Solademi stated.

He also commended the PCRC for its continued efforts to strengthen cooperation and understanding between the police and members of the public, noting that effective community participation remains essential to achieving sustainable security.

The PCRC Safe School Initiative is part of the organisation’s broader commitment to service to the nation and humanity. It seeks to deepen community involvement in security while supporting practical measures to create safer and more conducive learning environments throughout the Federal Capital Territory.

The induction of Solademi as Patron is therefore expected to further strengthen the initiative, particularly in the areas of youth engagement, community mobilisation and support for school safety programmes.
